Welcome to the TUIA Platform

TUIA Platform computerized system of health, education, and care protocols for children victims of violence, abuse, abandonment and neglect.

The United Nations Information Center (UNIC Rio), in partnership with ABRAPA – Brazilian Learning Disabilities Association and with support from FIOCRUZ and NCE-LABASE-UFRJ, has been doing research in Human Rights, Health, and Education working with 7 to 12 year-old children who live in shelters run by the City of Rio de Janeiro. The United Nation’s participation assures this program’s international documentation, supporting the practical application of scientific research, to promote society’s participation in projects aligned with the principles and values promoted by the United Nations – such as international peace and safety, development, defense of women’s and children’s rights, among others.

The work consists of the construction of an instrument useful as a reference for planning actions to combat violence against children, in the practices of the professionals involved, and in the articulation of these practices in the Health, Education, Social Work, and Justice sectors.
